Effective safeguarding is essential. As a Trust we spend time working together to ensure that our Safeguarding procedures, protocols and processes are up-to-date and effective. We share best-practice through our regular DSL meetings and support one another in what can be a challenging position.
Recently, Broughton Primary Academy held an E-safety day in school. The children took part in workshops led by Gary from Knowsley CLC based on their digital footprints, and how to keep themselves safe when online, including when using social media and gaming. They also welcomed Niall from Cumbria Constabulary Cybersecurity team who led an assembly for Key-Stage 2 pupils. The day ended with a workshop for parents, who provided feedback to say they found the session to be extremely beneficial in helping them understand how to protect their children in the virtual world.
